Yangzhou (www.yzren.com), where Yangzhou University is located, is a culture-loaded city with a long history of over 2500 years. The city itself is a museum of Chinese culture and a beautiful Chinese garden. Small and quite as it is, you have an easy access to all latest modern convenience here, too, while enjoying traditional heritage. Through all the ages, men of letters have lavishly praised Yangzhou in prose and poetry, pouring their love and yearning for this city in the most beautiful language. This is the only city in China that receives such an honour and it deserves, too.

Location: In the central part of Jiangsu Province, north to Shanghai.

Population: 0.48 million.

Area: 148 square kilometers (57.1 square miles)

Climate: Mild. Four seasons are distinctively demarcated. The coldest season is in January, with a mean temperature of 1.5ˇăC and the hottest in July, with a mean temperature of 27.5ˇăC.

Airlines: The nearest international airport is Putong International Airport and Hongqiao International Airport at Shanghai (two-hour-and-forty-minute drive), or Luokou Airport at Nanjing (one-hour-and-forty-minute drive).

 Access: Several state highways join at the city, with Hu-Ning Highway to Shanghai, Ning-Yang Highway to Nanjing, Jing-Hu Highway to Beijing (Peking). Railways also connect Yangzhou to Shanghai, Beijing, Xian etc.
